Living my dream, I felt like I was in a James Bond movie chasing down a terrorist in the middle of the desert. In reality, it was a business trip with my dad and my best friend, and we were just 4-wheeling. On the long drive into the desert, I got to see the less attractive sides of the UAE.  I started to question where our driver was really taking us as we passed elaborate prisons and military bases. After about an hour into the desert, halfway to Oman, we finally arrived at where we would head out into the sand. While we waited to equip our gear, the good ole street performers/scammers flocked around us to try and get their fix of our American greenbacks. 80 dirhams later, after my buddy fell for the tourist trap, we got in our 4x4s. We cruised the dry landscape, pushing the limits of the ATVs and the rules that our guide had set for us. One of the best adventures I've ever taken on a trip.
